Correct. So from what I understand yours is not a factory fitted GPL?
Called a Ford dealer: there is an Focus 1.6 mk3 with original Ford install, that is the one I am looking for. The engine already has reinforced valve seats and the GPL installation can be serviced by Ford directly. I do not think an aftermarket GPL is necessarily inferior to a factory one. But if I can choose, I will look for a factory one if possible. This way the whole car is serviced by my Ford officina, and I trust them.
For mk2 there was also an factory install version and even if it is aftermarket, this can be still OK, provided the system is properly made. From what I asked around, the difference is in valve seat material, maybe pistons (not sure) and the absence of the GPL lubricating system (gasoline also has some mild lubrication properties).
Ford, Opel, Fiat all have a presence in South America - which is big on methane and GPL. So I am 100% sure there are factory installs for them, the question is just if this is what is sold in Italy.
For Slovenia a Focus 1.6 Mk3.5 can be had with GPL and factory install, but they do only special orders. They do not even list it as an option, as GPL is still a niche fuel here. I, however, think GPL has a good potential.
